Asset tagging, from the tag to the register
An asset register is only as good as the tags on the assets. VexCloud's parent company, Vexar Solutions, has made asset tags in Nairobi and tagged fixed assets for organizations across Kenya since 2016. Together with VexCloud AMS, that means one team for the tags, the tagging and the software.
Standard tag: 39 × 13 mm anodized aluminium with a Code 128 barcode and the asset number. Larger sizes go up to 100 × 50 mm.
What is asset tagging?
Asset tagging is fixing a durable label with a unique number, usually as a barcode or QR code, to each physical asset, so it can be identified, scanned and matched to its record in an asset register. It is the foundation of physical verification, depreciation and accountability.
Choosing tags
The standard tag is 39 × 13 mm. Other sizes run up to 100 × 50 mm. Each row links to the matching page at Vexar Solutions.

Why tagging matters for compliance
Tax. Claims for wear and tear allowances depend on assets you can show physically. A tagged, verified register is how you show them. Vexar explains the link inhow KRA wear-and-tear allowances require physical fixed asset tagging (opens in a new tab).

Asset tagging questions
How long do aluminium tags last?
Vexar states that its anodized aluminium tags can last 10 to 20 years, even in harsh environments, with proper application and coating. See its durability guide for the conditions.
